Stowell Concrete
now offer reinforced hollowcore flooring to use on its
own or in conjunction with their 155mm deep floor joists
and T blocks.
The floor units are available in a depth of 155mm and a base
width of 600mm, with either three cores (HC300) for applications
where the floor mass is required to comply with Building
Regulations part E, or five cores (HC260) for domestic applications.
Each unit has large grouting keys to ease grout application
which, together with the 600mm width, allows for fast and
easy installation – reducing the build time.
With units supplied in increments of 50mm, spans of up to
6800mm can be achieved depending on the application. The
greatest clear spans can be attained when a 70mm reinforced
structural concrete topping is used in conjunction with the
units.
Care needs to be taken at the design stage – for which
Stowell offer full design service – as the addition
of steel joists may be required to facilitate the use of
hollowcore flooring. Units may need to be propped at approximately
2m centres until they have been grouted in and the grout
has set.
With most sizes available from our stockyard, deliveries
can be arranged to suit the schedule of the site.
