We have two designs of foundation block. Both types have a 300mm wide dimension which allows for a 100mm inside and 100mm outside skin of blockwork or brickwork to be built, leaving a 100mm cavity.
Wider cavities or thicker block widths can be accommodated by using the F340 foundation block laid with the 340mm dimension across the wall.
Foundation blocks are available in Stowlite medium dense concrete 7.3 N/mm2.
When F440 Foundation blocks are laid 300mm wide there are 20 no. per m2.
When F340 Foundation blocks are laid 300mm wide there are 26 no. per m2.
Where they are laid 340mm wide there are 29 no. per m2.
We produce a useful range of padstones. Manufactured to a 50 N/mm2 compressive strength, they are suitable for the majority of applications where a high-strength bearing pad is required – such as under steel joists. The padstones are produced in a range of sizes designed to fit most block and pier dimensions.
